I was just reading a list dispelling myths associated with the celebration of Independence Day. One states that the Continental Congress actually declared independence on July 2. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illumination, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forevermore."
