Campbells takes in 800,000 # of fresh produce per day. That is 20,000 trailer loads per day. At $3,000 per trailer load for freight only that comes to a $60,000,000.00 freight bill per day

A 40 foot trailer can haul up to 80,000 pounds of freight -- that is only 10 trailer loads @ $3000 a piece or $30,000 for a day. If the trailers only haul 40,000 pounds, half full, than it would be 20 trailers a day at $3000 a piece for $60,000.
Just my two cents.

In the U.S., I'm not sure about Canada, the maximum gross combination weight for an 18 wheeler is 80,000#s. Heavier than that, except for states or areas where they allow 53 footers pulled as doubles, and you will need a special permit to haul an oversize load. You then must subtract the weight of the tractor and trailer to get the tare weight. The tare weight my differ a little bit depending on the equipment, but usually a full load on a tractor and 40-53 foot trailer will be about 20 tons or 40,000 #s.
