Peanuts
#7
As I read this topic earlier today I seemed to remember that former President Jimmy Carter was described as a peanut farmer, so just to check that my memory was correct I looked him up. I was in early to middle secondary school here in Australia when he was President.
Jimmy Carter was indeed a peanut farmer, but only after the death of his father, when he resigned his Navy commission to take over the running of the family business.
I had no idea that Jimmy Carter had been in the U.S. Navy, a submariner and also involved in the Nuclear Powered Submarine Program.
It just goes to show how our opinions of someone can be influenced by their portrayal in the media.
Mind you Jimmy has been one of the most active ex Presidents, doing his bit for world peace and the betterment of the poor and disenfranchised.
Thumbs Up to Jimmy for a job well done. Thumbsup
