Mountaingoatgreg 2013 Duff Challenge
#1
Since the majority of my model railraod stuff is out in the garage I have been focusing on things I can work on while in the house. I was going through some of my boxes and came across a building I had started on for a shelf layout at my last house. I have already been playing around with a plan, but had not really put pen to paper and come up with a design. With this challenge I have decided to actually get this project rolling and get it finished!!

The Overview:

Part 1: "Old Shop"
I will be focuing on the existing building and finsihing it, I need to add walls for the small extension on the backside which will be for a shop area, lathes, drill presses, grinders etc. etc. This shop will be the "original" shop which will feature the board by board construction and corrugated metal siding. This shop will service anything that fits through the door, so mainly the smaller dozers, trucks and equipment.

Part 2: "New Shop"
As equipment got bigger a larger shop was needed, so they built a large shop to accomodate the larger equipment. This shop will also be a metal building, and will probably have larger windows to allow for more natural light. I am stil ltrying to figure out the plan, but it is coming along.

Part 3 "Office"
I was given a city classics mobile home for christmas that I will us an office. I will just build the kit as is and add some detailing to make it more office like.

Part 4 "Boneyard"
Many companies have a hard time throwing things away, instead they park them in a neat line and claim they are spare parts. After the rust to a certain degreee or they need more room they then scrap out some parts and park some other old stuff.

Part 5 " The yard"
This wil leb the last part of the project, this will include all the area around the facility with an area set aside for parking equipment between jobs. My goal is to complete the scenery but I do not have a plan to fil lthe yard up yet.
