Here's the latest SpringRail info from Carl Heimberger LA Division Superintendent:

April 20th may not bring showers or May flowers but it will bring the
4th Annual Los Angeles Division, NMRA SpringRail Meet.

The best thing about this year’s SpringRail Meet is FREE Admission to all NMRA Members. There is a $10 charge for non members that will be used to purchase them a 6 moth NMRA Rail Pass Membership. With the free or paid admission you will get access to the Swap Meet that starts at 7:00 am, admission to the clinics, contest tables, modular layouts and one card of 25 Hobo Auction Tickets (auction tickets alone are a $5 value). For an additional $10 you can get morning coffee and donut, a box lunch, and afternoon refreshments. You can also purchase additional auction tickets at one card (25 tickets) for $5, three cards (75 tickets) for $10 and 7 cards (175 tickets) for $20. There are going to be over one hundred items in the auction and even if your number is not drawn everyone will go home with some prize. To be sure we have a lunch for you have we asked that you sign up by emailing Mike Allee at <!-- e --><a href="mailto:rmallee@me.com">rmallee@me.com</a><!-- e --> and include in the subject line SpringRail lunch signup.

The event should end around 4:30 pm. We will also have some modular layouts to view as well as a contest table where you can enter a model of your choosing; prizes will be awarded on popular vote

CLINICS

Todd Scott,
First clinic how to add detail to your layout and make it come alive
Todd will demonstrate various techniques for adding details to your layout that will make it look more realistic.

Todd’s second clinic will be a video on his outdoor HO layout, who said you, cannot do that!

Jim Fuhrman, DCC Camp
In this 2-hour clinic Jim will show you how to program your locomotive decoder and if you have a problem programming a locomotive bring it to this clinic and Jim will help you program it.

Andy Jackson, History and modeling opportunities of the LAJ (Los Angeles Junction Railway)
Andy will show photos of the LAJ as it was in its hey-day and how it looks today.

Lloyd Lehrer, will present 2 clinics back to back, first fast and easy pine trees and the second canopy tree. You will be given the opportunity to build a pine and canopy tree for your layout and take it home at no cost to the participant.

Carl Heimberger, Making molds and casting parts with casting resins and plaster.
Carl Will show you how to make an original, build a mold with RTV rubber compound, and make castings using casting resins and plaster.
