Elevators
#3
I'm not modelling the prairies, but we still had grain elevators in southern Ontario.

The elevator at Elfrida is the same as your kit, although the warehouse building wasn't used here.

The one at South Cayuga, also from the same kit, will eventually be moved to another town on the second level of the layout, replaced here by a fruit-packing warehouse and cold storage.

The smaller structure, seen in the previous photo, is meant to represent a former coal dealer's elevator, converted to one for grain storage. The elevator housing has been move from what will be the track side of the structure to the road side, and there'll be an earthen ramp through the dump shed for trucks and wagons.
The field stone foundation is from an MDC Three-in-One kit, while the rest is constructed of Evergreen styrene siding and strips. The shingles are from Campbell.

Of course, GERN's Gibson Works, in Port Maitland, is built around Walthers concrete ADM grain elevator, with lots of scratchbuilt additions and modifications:

The outbuilding from Elfrida's elevator ended up at V.A. Wagner's lumber yard, in Lowbanks:
