I think we are going to wake up one day and find that there are other races out there who have already found the practical solutions to our current problems, and we will find ourselves in the same position as the Pacific Islander Cargo Cultists during WWII.
After all, who ever thought that it was possible to run trains at speeds of up to 300 miles per hour, that don't run on rails but on magnetic force fields?
