A MDC inside frame HOn3 2-8-0 would be a possible starting point. The steam dome would have to be removed so that the boiler could be enlarged, and the tapered section built up.........
The frame could be modified to a 4-8-0 configuration, and the boiler could be scratchbuilt from either brass, or styrene. The MDC cab could be used, and the MDC steam and sand domes could be masters foe resin castings. Modifying the MDC boiler would be a bit of a struggle as it is plastic with the zamak weight in one piece.
The MDC would make a reasonable facsimile, with a few minor changes.
