We never shop there that much anyway, and I can't remember ever buying anything when we did.

Isn't buying something the definition of shopping?

By definition, shopping is, "Searching for or buying goods or services". So, one can shop several stores before actually buying something, or not buy anything if you didn't find anything that suited you. Lots of nice stuff at Hobby Lobby, just nothing that I could use at the time....
