Something I always wanted to know about the West train shows

Several years ago I noticed a lot of western roads in a LHS here in Delaware and only one or two PRR locomotives. I asked about C&O stuff and he had never heard of it. He asked if it was a short line. I also asked about so much western roads and so little PRR when up until Conrail the PRR was all that was in Delaware. He said when he first started his shop about 5 years earlier he stocked up on PRR stuff and nobody even gave it a second look everyone wanted western roads. He said he couldn't give them away and couldn't keep the others in stock. About 10 years later when he passed away that PRR stuff was still there. He also stocked C&O stuff for some odd reason. I don't get it.
