I wouldn't worry. Lester's compressor caught fire only because he cleaned it, and did not allow enough time for all of the cleaning solvent to dissipate into the air. All electric motors will tend to arc a little bit, so will contacts when they make or break as well as any switches. If you use a cleaning solvent on anything electrical, always allow plenty of time for it to dry before plugging in the item and turning it on. Likewise, if electrical equipment ever gets wet from any sort of water leak, unplug it and let it air dry for 24 hours before attempting to use it or even plug it in to see if it is still good. A little water doesn't really harm an electrical device, unless it soaks long enough to cause rust. It is just that the water can create a short circuit until it dries out.
