I did the hatches today. Using copper plated PCB is an excellent base for soldering. The right rail has a jointer just on top of the gap and it worked perfect. Cut it just a tad to the rail end and it is still perfect stable. Looks lousy but works very good even the cut is about 45°. I will put some gray paint on it later.
And than starts the fun part This is version 0.01 of the very first draft track plan. It is great fun to "plan" with actual tracks and switches using thumbtacks.
I may need to go to the basement for some more engines and cars for better "planning"
