Well, after eight minutes in the ultrasonic cleaner, the car I put in still has the factory paint, including markings, intact. It does look a lot cleaner though... 
On hand painted models, the outer paint is gone in eight minutes, and sixteen removes 95% of the primer, so I guess you can ignore my suggestion if it's factory paint you are taking off. At least it didn't melt or dissolve the plastic.
