An old LifeLike MEC GP7 arrived from the USA today. I shot it from ebay with my iPad laying at the pool in Gran Canaria
The model arrived in poor condition. I merged parts (drive, handrails etc.) with a spare model, added LEDs and Tsunami sound.. The last green MEC GP7 disappeared in 1981 and the first BM in plain blue paint appeared in 1983. Not a perfect match but good enough for me.

ps. Three wonderful harvest gold Atlas MEC models have been offered at US ebay too while I was on vacation but the seller did ship to US only. That was frustrating but I read enough stories of frustrated US sellers having lots of trouble with overseas sales.
pps. A harvest gold Atlas MEC GP7 with international shipping pop up brand new in US ebay. I shot it immediately

I heard about it but never tried it. Would have been great two weeks ago. Did you use it and how do you switch to the US address in ebay? I think ebay insists on a fixed mail address. I did never see an alternate shipping address.

Hello Reinhard,
go to your Ebay account and than adresses. There you can add any address you want. It works, I use it with addresses in germany(off course) and US.

Sorry for the bad spelling in the last post. I forgot to turn off the auto correction on my tablet ...
Yes I've used shipito several times. Currently I also have a mailbox there. This way I collect some items over a three month span and ship them together home.

Started working on a small passenger terminal for the RDCs.

Thomas, I am more thrilled by the option to get the stuff via DHL Express within 48 hours. Train World offers that option too. I love it
ps. I switch the keyboard layout on my iPad and the spell checker switches from German to US english too.

I fixed it up for you, so if there's any bad spelling left, it's mine.

The passenger station got a down grate. Plattform is old tarmac and the parking is gravel only. Some weed and trash is added to the scenery.

The former depot is used by the MOW teams only. The station may be abandoned very soon. Just a pair of trains (RDC only) in the morning and the afternoon have a regular stop.

Model power made a great job creating a beautiful model named "Port Chester".

The lately reestablished hatch at the door completing the loop again and the addition of a passenger train (RDC) changes the operating session. The local freight has to take the siding and interrupt switching while the passenger train passes by.

Pelle is posting in FB since a couple of days picture from his layout taken with an iPhone for use in his next book. I assumed an iPhone has a a far to low quality to be used on commercial printed books.
I got my iPhone 6Plus and shot some photos of my layout without any additional lights than the normal lamps in the room and no digital improvements. I am afraid the iPhone has a better camera than my Canon IXUS 300HS.......
Have a look by yourself and compare with photos I posted before. I read some time ago that the market of small digital cameras is shrinking very fast. That makes a lot of sense to me now.

A nice layout made by Daniel John Beresford with some texture background and cardboard models in a Facebook group made use of products from http://clevermodels.squarespace.com/textures/

That looked quite nice and I got some of them to play with. Two of the textures can be used as is. I printed them on heavy paper (the max of my HP laser printer) and mounted them as easy background behind the staging yard.
The first one blends nicely with another downtown deco structure "parked" behind the staging yard.

I should get some cardboard structure skills.
