When I finish my session on Big Blue, should I logout? Will staying logged in cause problems or waste resources?
If I don't logout, will my "view new posts" be affected the next day?

In model railroading, there are between six and two hundred ways of performing a given task.
Most modellers can get two of them to work.

I try to stay logged into the forums I belong to. I hate logging in everytime I switch between sites, call me lazy  It won't affect your "view new posts" it will still show all the new posts since you lasted "visited" the site.

And if it did, all you would have to do is push the refresh button.

Staying logged in will not use resources. I would only use the "remember me" thing on private computers (like the one at home). If you use shared computers at work or something, I would make sure you log out.

Bah, that's energy efficient. You are saving electricity by not having to take time on the laptop to browse to all of those sites and login again.
