...it was announced that after much legal wrangling, (the lawyers got richer,) and without too much government interference...er...help, the trackage rights were obtained for the Dubuque, Davenport and St Louis Railroad, earlier this week.
The railroad's President and head Broom Pusher, Carl, stated that the railroad has hopes to also operate a passenger train from Chicago to St Louis. The railroad will be known as "the Mississippi River Route."
It is uncertain when the first train will begin operations, as there are "areas that need to be worked on."
I only know what I know, and I don't understand very much of it, either.

Doing battle with the Mississippi...always an interesting element to model! Congrats on obtaining approval! Look forward to seeing the progress.
