Viperman's Trainz Thread

Ever since I purchased the game, I've been getting into it more and more. I'm still trying to figure the game out, especially the Surveyor mode, but I'm getting the hang of it. Here are some shots of stuff I've downlaoded, stuff I'm running, my surveyor mode experiments, etc. Sit back and enjoy!

And as always, all comments are welcome.

In this post I'll arrange the screenshots in order of taking them, since they are all on my surveyor mode experimental layout, and it shows progress that I'm making.

Took this picture to show that the United Way SD40-2 worked
[Image: SD40-2UP3300UnitedWay-1.jpg]

Took this picture to show that I had made a big hole in the ground to become a lake, and that I downloaded UP1995
[Image: CNWSD70ACE1995-1.jpg]

Next couple shots are of the United Way SD40-2 showing progress in the scenery
[Image: SD40-2UP3300UnitedWay-2.jpg]

And from the other side of the scenic area
[Image: SD40-2UP3300UnitedWay-4.jpg]

And of a BNSF ES44AC showing more progress in scenery. You can see an abandoned car, a tent with feet sticking out, and if you look close enough, fish in the water. The fish are very hard to see in the screenshots, and aren't very easy to see in the game itself.

It seems to be getting easier, but I still have a real hard time putting roads down, and getting crossings to work

Took a few more screenshots today. First few show me playing with a CNW SD40-2 while messing around with tracks:

I figured out how to build a tunnel:

And the last one for now, an overall shot showing the lake area and how it leads to the tunnel.

LOL, yeah! I haven't figured out how to modify the speed limits yet, and this layout you see me building here is strictly for experimenting with the game to learn how everything works. I'm starting to get the hang of it. but there are still things that I just can not figure out at all

Been working on the layout, and have progressed a bit on the scenery work. I was able to fix my crossing problems, thanks to the helpful posts over at the game's forum.

The first pic is "just because". Seeing the last few posts were about me speeding, I thought I'd post this one in a Big Boy:

A couple shots of a local company, which was not too long ago bought by CN. Elgin Joliet & Eastern (EJ&E) GP38:

The next 5 pics show another somewhat local (more so to Deano) company. This is by far my favorite loco of theirs. These shots also show a scene I'm working on with a cemetery. I have it fenced in, have a dirt road going into it, there is a small chapel, and a hearse in it so far. I do plan to put more work here yet too. ALSO, on the other side of the tracks form the cemetery is a dirt road leading to the scene on the lake which is in most of my previous screeshots.

Took these next couple while just screwing around in the game:

I love the way the ES44AC looks in the GE paint scheme. Also showing some of the scenes mentioned earlier along the lake and cemetery. Oh, and a couple artistic shots of it too:

Deano, this next one is for you. Should be self explanatory:

Thanks Deano! I'll have to post some pics of the car dealer I set up. I actually was able to take pictures of trains passing by from inside the building too, those came out really cool
