First off, some classic Majorette 1:87 Construction trucks



The toys have been used well enough, soon to both get make overs, starting with the tractors



They are from Kmart, from Norscot.



Next is some long awaited Centerflow Hoppers I have been working on and putting off a lot. Finally deciding to make the rest of the decals, and now have a total of 6 of which 4 are done. I used graffiti off of real train pictures and edited the tagging to the cars.

Last hopper almostfinished with the decals, but with no reporting marks, trucks, or couplers:




And last, I got 2 of these guys, one needed a coupler and the other needs the spine/coupler/trucks, but for $4 total I can't complain

Nothin' says realism like the work of aspiring "artists" on the side of you HO cars. Good work on the custom decals...I had to read if they were commercial or not based on the quality!

So, is that considered to be part of "weathering" or detailing?

If you are ever short on material, I live 1/2 mile from a massive hump yard & intermodal facility where the old B&O, PRR, NYC, Southern, L&N, N&W, and C&O met...there's always plenty of examples I could photograph for you!

Thanks guys! Now I know who to ask if I need more graffiti shots

The editing was quite easy actually, I used MS word to resize the images and print them out using the custom size decal sheet (i think it's 8"x5.5" using the premium glossy photo option)

Free Form Select to cut out the images from the trains, you can use either MS Paint, photoshop or paint shop pro to do it.

Small update, since I've had nothing to do lately...

I finally cut and made the flatbed longer for better use (wheel loaders and such)







I still have to smooth everything out then finally paint it a dull black

The decals came out really well - what brand paper did you wind up using? Also, I'm assuming they are from a standard inkjet printer?

The testors clear paper, I think they're the 5.5X8 sheets, I also used Microsoft Word, paper-printing resized to testors sheet specs, then right to my printer

What did you use to seal the decals on the Testor's paper? I often have problems with ink running despite spraying sealants on the decal paper after printing.

Well I let the ink dry first, always keeping the paper flat, never had a problem that way

Well I let the ink dry first, always keeping the paper flat, never had a problem that way

Well, I let the decal sheets dry for a day, spray the Decal Bonder, let that dry for a day, and still get some ink bleeding. Hmmmmm, do you use distilled water to dip the decals?

I sometimes do use distilled, it does work better since it's not contaminated like tap water

I don't about your problem though besides wondering if it's an ink/paper/bonder
