Would anyone be interested in the "Photography Game" here?
Now THAT is how I like my UP SD40-2's! With the large number on the hood and "UNION PACIFIC" spelled out on the nose instead of the shield and platinum mist silver trucks.

Thanks Charlie!

Union Pacific 3803 west on the Canadian National at Burlington, Illinois on March 3, 2008. I can't tell if this was a CN train with run-through power or trackage rights move.

Don't have any UP locos so I'll stay with another UP reefer from Jan 1995

Union Pacific 5107 north through Mason City, Iowa on October 2, 2008. He's approaching the Iowa, Chicago & Eastern crossing, now Canadian Pacific, in the foreground.

Well if it must be diesels then I will find one but I must do this under protest. Diesels should be banned from this. Hey only joking Icon_lol OK I have a few of them.

Now tell me this isn't one way to fix this problem. I know the quality of the pic sucks but that's all I have right now.

Sorry, Les: you're close but no cigar. The picture should be of one of three choices: an SD50 from any road, anything Union Pacific, or anything with the number 5107. Your geep, #5707, comes close in the number category, but this ain't horseshoes. Misngth Icon_lol I'm willing to overlook it, though, since you included the Allegheny in the picture. Goldth Goldth

Another UP reefer from November of 1994. Isn't UP 5107 a SD70?

Here's a couple UP Dash 9's for ya. They don't see much action on a 70's era model railroad but I can't sell em since the wife bought them for me. Thumbsup

It could be, Bruce. I'm certainly no expert on diesels, and especially on the newer ones. I simply googled UP 5107, and that's what it said it was.

Wayne, I'm no expert either, I was going to post a CR SD50 when I realized they weren't the same and checked the UP number.

Going off of Charlie's UP GP-9's here's Winchester and Western GP-9's 811 and 475 at Millville,NJ

Here's TH&B GP9 403 at Kinnear Yard, in Hamilton, Ontario, sometime in the mid-'70s. They ran long hood forward.
