Thanks, biL, although it never occurred to me to form the shape first, then add the dirt and gravel. 35 I did mine while ballasting and adding ground cover, and it's simply more of the same heaped up and saturated with "wet" water and white glue.

I also use the Walthers version of a track bumper, although a pile of manure might have been more appropriate here:
