Yeah, I know I have a PM thread somewhere. However, since my attitude is different, so is this thread. Any work I do, good bad or ugly is going to be here. Here is where I will look for suggestions, feedback, etc. I look forward to starting new.
Now I just have to clear off the junk that is on my benchwork and work station and get at it.

As an addendum; I have a bunch of kits laying around. They will make their debut here. I have a Western Ave fire department, some modular stuff, the remains of a roundhouse, a coal distributor, a few bowser loco kits, a truss bridge, and coming soon another turntable. I won't give a timeline, as I am going to work at my own pace, but there will be pics coming soon.

I wish I had some progress to report. I started a new job and have not had a single free moment in the last few weeks. I have a couple of hours tonight, but that is going to be devoted to some basic clean-up.
Does anyone know if Walthers sells individual kit parts? When my basement flooded the remediation crew threw out a few parts from my turntable kit.
My work schedule is going to change this coming week, which will hopefully allow me some free time to do some work.
When I do, I am switching gears. Thus far I have been assembling structure kits, as well as a few pieces of rolling stock. I want to get some track down. I need to see something coming together aside from some buildings.
I also need to come up with a way to add staging below the layout. Most examples I see use tunnels to hide the transition. I am modeling the midwest, where there are not many mountains. I may use structures, or some natural scenery to cover it up. I will have to scratch my head over it for a while.

I wish I was back at it. Work has been a nightmare, and it takes alot of time away from my family. I have spent the available time I have had with my wife and kids, and helping out around the house. I will get something done this coming week. I am not sure what I am going to work on specifically. I need to try to find a basin for my walthers 90' turntable kit.
I really want to see some tracks put down. I want to get some of my loco's and rolling stock some rail time.
I also have more benchwork to build.
I think that I am have gone from being an active modeler to an armchair modeler. I need to get active again.
I may be considering doing something in N scale as well. Something that I can fit in my work truck.

I am re-working my track plan. The one I had before is too ambitious considering that I will most likely be the only operator, and I wanted to cram way too much into it. not to mention that my back is getting worse, and I don't want a duck under.
The space is the same, I still have an issue with electrical distribution to the area, as there is only 1 outlet in that area. That is easy enough to fix, I just want to make sure I put the new outlets in the most beneficial spots.
I am considering a U shape with a return loop that ends in staging. My hang-up with the return loop is that it is going to be HUGE. I want my mainline radius to be no less than 30". Later on I will throw up some pics I drew up of the proposed layout with the return loop.
I just have to witlle down which scenes/elements I can go without.

Matt, I haven't actually done any work on my layout in a long time, I want to, but I'm never at my parents' house for long to do any work, and its not exactly easy to drive an hour each way just to work on it. I did clean my tracks off this past weekend though! I was hoping to run some trains on it for my son, but we had to leave before we got that far.

After a long absence, I am back. There was a death in the family that kept me away for a while.
