I'm still intrigued by the large double bay model. It would be the Hilton of cabin cars with room for a pool! Smile
Definitely like he transfer caboose idea for the leftover bonus parts. Thumbsup

Its a Dale Jarrett bear bank someone gave me for Xmas a few years back.

Ok..Finally got my big chair loving butt to the LHS to pick up some Squadron Putty. I got the white(Anyone know the difference betwen white and green?....Besides the color?). And filled in the gaps.

I also plugged and filled the roof walk hole and where the end ladders went through the roof. Everything was sanded.

While that cured, I worked on the "bonus project" Using the same method as the Cobbler, I re-enforced the mating halfs with scrap styrene.

There was a larger gap, so I had to build up the putty in layers.

Hopefully, this is the last one.

Nice progress! Does the white putty stink as badly as the green?

I have never noticed the green stank... I used to use the green, and then the testors white stuff. I eventually decided I like the bondo "spot glazing putty" I get at the auto parts store. BTW, that is coming along quite nice! Thumbsup

Great project! Now this is what model railroading is all about!

Ralph, I agree, the green putty smells like 5x stronger than testors glue.

I never thought I'd ever end up "sniffin' putty", but the white smells just about as strong as the green. I find the white easier to paint over (primer always looks darker over the green) than the green, and both can be thinned with Testors liquid cement, to help fill the smallest scratches.

Quit sniffin' putty Pete. You'll end up seeing things like Mad Hatters or Cheshire Cats (the latter is normal though if you're a C&O fan, I guess). Smile Thanks for the tip about thinning the putty though. I never heard that before. Thumbsup

I really didn't notice the smell until I put the tube close to my nose. Then all those memories I lost in the seventies came flooding back.

Off Topic. I took my girls to see the new Alice in Wonderland flix. I really enjoyed it too. Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter is one freaky looking dude. Goldth

Actually, I think I'd rather leave the "seventies memories" right where ever I left them, the first time. Big Grin Big Grin
