On the way to the Marion, Ohio slide show on Saturday I recorded this sequence in Deshler:

An E494 empty coal train had to wye its power in Deshler using the northwest and southwest transfer tracks. This seems to happen a couple times a year when I'm in Deshler. Even if one unit had completely died the other would be able to handle an empty coal train to Huntington with ease. More likely, however, is a non-working heater in one unit, necessitating the swap.

I see I missed another slide show. Wallbang

BTW..NS has been extremely busy over the last few days.Even CF&E ran 2 yesterday-the grain train in both directions..

That's a nice series. Those CSX units look pretty photogenic in the snow!

I've heard them turn power for inoperable headlights too. Nice series of shots, and the lack of sunshine makes the light neutral too.
