Some new layout pictures
#1
It's been sometime since I last posted on this forum. Many family and personal problems.
During that time I took a long hard look at my layout and soon discovered that I was not satisfied with a few of the areas so I went to work revising them.
On the front side of the layout I added an office where a demolished building used to stand.

Next was the pallet factory.I removed the track from under the chip tower, shortened the size of the bin and made it for use by trucks.

I then proceeded to remove the small engine house that sat at the back of the switchback allowing for about 6" extra inches of track length.

Next up is the diner. Never really liked this area. Found a used passenger car and converted it to a diner and added an outside store house and garbage area along with a revised parking lot.

Lastly is the freight handling area. Here I removed the traveling crane, enlarged the staging area and added a fueling area. I also added a steam powered crane(a Jordan Miniatures kit)

Thanks Kevin-Good to be back. Thanks for the compliment.I appreciate it. That crane really put my patience to the test.Way too many small and fragile parts. The passenger car I used for the diner required some minor modifications and new paint.

Hi Bob --

That looks great ! You really have the eye (and hand) for making your scene come alive with freight and cars and fences and signs and all those things you do!

Thank you all for the kind words and compliments.I really appreciate them. I have always been a sort of detail oriented person and I try to carry that over to the layout.
I still have some detail work to do yet and that includes people, but all in good time.
Now I feel it is a good time to clean the track and run some trains. BTW-I found a switch list generator at Dallas Model Works.I have all my info entered and can't wait to try it out.
Once again-Thanks
Bob
