The Mission Valley & Pacific Railway Layout
#1
I thought I'd continue the tradition of displaying the progress of my model railroad, the fictional Mission Valley & Pacific. Old gaugers may remember my old 4X8 layout, and perhaps even the beginning of the larger 9X12 modular layout that succeded that.

Read this thread and follow the progress of this model railroad. They're something for everyone.

If you want to read how this layout started, and all associated stuff that I've already completed on the layout, follow this link to my website to catch up: http://modelrailroading.wordpress.com/c ... ho-layout/

Here's a photo of my Boxcab locomotive working the Yard at Hemet. It's busy shuffling boxcars in front of the huge transload facility where over 50 cars are unloaded every op session on a tight schedule.

Here's a photo of it out on the mainline..

I recently added a slew of RIX products telephone poles to the layout, and here they are in action with an SP SD7 and an ATSF SW1200.

The double poles that span the river were kitbashed from drawings of similar installments by Western Union.

Nice layout indeed. You probably knew this already, Tim Warris recently went about restoring a brass boxcab on his blog for his Bronx Terminal build. You should check it out if you have not already done so. It was really neat to see how he was able to retrofit a small motor onto one of the trucks.
