Harrington.

Hi everyone,

Here are a few pictures I would like to share of my small exhibition layout Harrington. This is a freelance switching layout with loco servicing facilities at one end and a team track, transrail shed and a specialist plastics manufacturer at the other. Please note that the layout is having a revamp at the moment, including a 12 inch extension to the loco servicing area before the start of the exhibition season next year.

Please enjoy and any feedback is much appreciated.

Hi,
welcome to the UK! I specially like the ballast you did. It looks great.
I think I did see the photos some month ago some where else. Someone recommended them to me. They have been very helpful to find the reefers I was looking for.

I will second the compliment about the ballast. Smoothest i've ever seen. Nice work.

the person backing up the loco (the picture with the Ford F250), who makes that guy. Also the camera guy you have (not shown on this forum, yet).

Thanks

looking very nice, and convincing! If I may be a little 'critical', or a suggestion would be more appropriate: A little weathering of the buildings, rolling stock and details (roads, surfaces etc) would help to gell the whole scene together, but very immaculate work otherwise. I am not a fan of the red white and blue rail america colour scheme (they've done that to my favourite, California Northern RR too), I like the patched up UP units. For once, the UP is getting their own back, after molesting all those SP units and more :-) (I still like UP though Icon_lol

Thanks for the comments so far everyone.

AlcoRS1, all the figures on the layout are from the Preiser range - have a flick through their website to see which ones best suit your needs.

Koos, you are absolutly right - everything needs to be weathered to some degree - I have started the weathering process, but it is slow going at the moment.

Jack, If it wasn't for you, I would have missed out on this excellent forum.

Faraway, I have watched your layout develop over the recent months - excellent modelling. I beleive we have a common interest - The LAJ Railway.

Great to see more LAJ fans. Do you know the LAJ prototype west cost forum? http://www.westcoastrailforums.com/forum-60.html

Now I remember! This was the pointer to your layout photos shortliner posted :
