Engines that never was - BLE und BL44to
#1
Hello,

inspired by some articles of Jim Teese in the April issues of "Model Railroading" from 1995, 1996 and 1998, I had some more ideas of "engines that never was" based on the BL-2.

In issue 04/1998 he had presented a 16wheel transfer unit. Following his idea I want to build a 12wheel electric loco. Therefor I connected the shells of two BL-2 on the driver's cab.

Now the finishing touches on the shell are still missing. The fan / exhaust unit will be replaced by a flush plate with the electrical rooftop equipments. Two pantographs will be placed over the fulcrums of the bogies. Then I have to build a frame that fit to the P2K SD7er bogies. But i have to move the next time so it will take a while for most of work that lacks.

Unfortunately I have not cut the shells as Jim Teese. Because the parts that remains could be build together as a BL44to.

So I have still to buy another P2K BL2 shell to finish the BL44to too.
