Of all the prototype photos I have taken, this is my favorite - the Pere Marquette #1225 - otherwise known as the Polar Express (It's whistle was used in the movie).
This was taken in Standish Michigan, and was one of its last trips before another restoration.

In model railroading, there are between six and two hundred ways of performing a given task.
Most modellers can get two of them to work.

Heading out of Durango, along the Silverton branch, on the way up to Grand Junction, and I 70 East, I was able to get this shot of the Eureka.
We always learn far more from our own mistakes, than we will ever learn from another's advice.
The greatest place to live life, is on the sharp leading edge of a learning curve.
Lead me not into temptation.....I can find it myself!

This picture was taken today on a return trip from Ft.Wingate NM. The train was about 25 miles west of Belen NM headed east into Belen.
Photo was taken fronm my moving work truck at about 60MPH and the train was doing about 50MPH with my Nikon D60 on auto mode.
Only train picture I got to take all week! Dang!

I was down at the local CN yard a while back looking to try out my new camera. I got some shots of one engine setting up a consist and then this trio of brutes showed up to take it away. You can see they are just entering the yard over an overpass that crosses one of the main drags, Lewvan Drive, part of the Ring Road network that encircles Regina.

Note the Railroad Dude all set to do his duty. He came to say "Howdy!", and he's here to do his duty. You can call him "Howdy Doody".
