A Big Blue Story

He handed our hero a raggedy pouch.. Taking it, our hero felt how heavy it was.

Carefully looking inside, our hero saw the Gold.. Raw Gold...

He looked at Mr. O'Flannery and the fake gun lying on the ground and said "This is real gold...."

Mr. O'Flannery said" Of coursin' it's REAL - I mined it myself! Now git down to the train station and get your carcass to Yuma and get your Barstucks or Starbucks or whatever it's called started up!!!!!

Our Hero thanked him again and again shook his hand and then, ran down to the station, got on the train and headed to Yuma....

Of course - once he arrived in Yuma, he started thinking....

....Definitely a bad thing.....So's instead, I'll take a little side-trip to that Las Vegas place I hear so much about. Maybe I can....

...take a gamble at one of those new fangled casinos and maybe lose my stash, or I could just go buy one of those McMansions and still have money left over for buyin' me that big Starbuckies in the fanciest places in the whole country. Oh, what the heck, I'm gunna just go and...

the nearest bar, where he started spouting off about a lady angel, and what-not, until one of the local patrons....

.. told him that angels are real and he'd better pay attention if he's going to make something of himself. He also warned him, "whatever happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas"*. And so with these things in mind, he left his drink that he couldn't pay for anyway, and realized he needed to find a job so he headed out towards....

... where else, the train depot. By this time they finally had scheduled service to wherever he was, but he was in such a daze that he didn't know, nor did he care where he was. He just wanted to get out of town and get somewhere where he could make a name for himself. After all, his family has a history of entertaining, he could be a headliner in Sin City once he remembered how to...

Pull a habit out of a Rat.....His father had been psychiatrist, turned Magician....but he couldn't even remember that !
Still thinking the stage was his future, he wandered off to try sneaking into some of the shows, to see if he could.....

He found a likely spot and successfully snuck in to the nearest theater only to find.....

O'Flannery's "daughters", working as dancers. They recognized our hero, and invited him...........

...on stage to show off his new act. Knowing that he hadn't rehearsed, he thought he'd still give it a try. After all, Las Vegas wasn't that far away. There was the usual crowd there, about four or five drunks, two gamblers and a local school teacher, and that made him nervous, this is his chance for the big time. Ta Daaa, the band struck up a chord, and our hero glanced around as he walked on stage. The lights were bright, but standing way in back he could see a figure in the shadows, could it be... yes, it surely looks like....

......The ghost of Hairry Hoodidit, an old third rate magician, who died trying to escape from a straight jacket, while immersed in a barrel of beer. Hairry was wagging his finger at our hero, indicating that he shouldn't try to seek a career in magic. Our hero, chose to go ahead with it, and was just about to perform his trick when the rat.............

...jumped out of the hat before he even got a chance to start his act. Well, this made the sparse audience roll on the floor, laughing their heads off at such a side-splitting event. "Humm", thinks our guy, "if it takes three cliches to describe their reaction then perhaps Harry is right, I should give up magic and go into stand-up comedy". Wow, and so our guy gathered up his hat and rat and off he went to the place where dreams are made, he caught the first train heading to...
