Yesterday evening around 5pm uk time I ordered an Alaskan Atlas MP15 from http://www.trainworldonline.com/
It was shipped via UPS
It's just arrived !!!!!!!
Now that's service
That is amazing. They are the only shop I know that ships via DHL EXPRESS to Germany. That takes about 48 hours. A parcel with on or two engines is about $35. How much did UPS ask for to do it in 24 hours?

Hi Chris,
That is truly amazing service. I've been reluctant to order from the US, but your experience has given me confidence.
I'll also be interested to see how much they charge you.
regards,
Mal

That is really impressive. I did not see the UPS option for international shipping. UPS is listed for US internal shipping only. I see USPS, DHL express and a blank selection for international shipping.

Hi Chris,
Great work
This should convince me that this type of layout is the solution to have fun in a small amount of time. I have to think about it.
I also viewed the video of your Haston layout on Youtube. Amazing.

I'm impressed too, Chris!
By my reckoning the total cost of loco, shipping & taxes is still cheaper than buying from a retailer in the UK, and they have locos in stock which are not currently
available or sold out in the UK.

A couple of you joked at the speed that the CTU spur was built, and asked what I was going doing next weekend, well I've been a little busy with work this month but last weekend I was able to build a small layout for my son Jack
details of it can be seen at

Hi all
I haven't posted anything for a couple of months due to work, but I thought you might be interested in some photo taken at CTU's first outing.
The layout ran well over both days but it needs a lighting pelmet and i'm going have to fit a back scene to make it stand out a little.
Also I'm going to add another 4 feet to it before the next show in June.

Chris;
I thought I had posted this earlier, but it appears not to have come through: What is driving the need for the extra four feet in length? Operational need, or some other reason? And onto which end of the layout are you adding it?
Great photos of the layout by the way. Glad the weekend went well for you all.

Hi Andrew
It's a case of more wants more
The extension will be on the end of the yard, basically it will be a case of extending the main line ( if you can call it that) across a grade crossing and into a single industry (Not sure what yet) with either one or two tracks
Also the layout doesn't look quite balanced with the tall feed and seed at one way and the low warehouse at the other
The new industry needs slightly taller than the warehouse with a couple of silos at the far end to give it some height
Unfortunately I can't find a suitable building on the real APU spur or in Anchorage itself

Very nice, looks like you had a great time.
