Hi, Those bulk trailers look great and just what I need for the right hand end of the layout where I'm modelling a Transflo facility based on this one at Ft. Lauderdale.

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.bing.com/maps/?v=2&cp=nbjftk89k7g4&lvl=19.61&dir=353.59&sty=o&form=LMLTCC">http://www.bing.com/maps/?v=2&cp=nbjftk ... orm=LMLTCC</a><!-- m -->

Transflo receives dry bulk products which are transferred from gravity discharge covered hoppers using augers into bulk trailers which can clearly been seen.

Also seen are tank cars,(mainly ethanol ,I think) being unloaded into tank trailers. So I'm also looking for suitable tank trailers too.

I've revised my layout design to provide an open area at the Transflo facility where unloading into bulk and tank trailers can be replicated.
I simply reduced the size of the Transflo warehouse to about one third and placed a row of hedges behind the unloading area to maintain the
partially hidden storage track. Here's the revised design.

I think it's over ( 65.00 E) $80.00 for a kit If I'm right ??? Still to pricey for me!!!

I just bought one of the other style trailers it was $47 + cost of an Athearn 40' container chassis. $80 seemed like a lot but I guess i'm getting close to that price with the kit and trailer chassis 35

My guess it's a paint job!!! Not to long ago I pickup a matchbox bulk trailer really nice but wrong scale ( 1/64?? ) to bad because the price was $6.95 . to bad I can't shrink it!!!!! Now only if we could get something close to that??? we can only hope !!! But if you are looking for some tank trailers with ford aero max cabs Maisto makes them I found them a store called 5 below for $3.95

Not content making 1, he made 3 of them!!! Eek Eek Eek What a lot of work to get this complex geometry right! An easier way would be to get a 3D print master and cast them... Well, it wouldn't be cheap either.

Those trailers came out nice!!!! I'm not afraid of the work putting them together , my only problem is the materials will cost almost as one of the kits!!!

Hi,

Today I drove along to Deerfield Beach,FL in my ol' Ford pickup and took my camera along. Here's a few pics Wink

I've added more static grass and Heki wildgrass, the left hand half of the layout is almost complete. I'll add more detail later, meantime I'll start working on the Transflo terminal at the right hand end of the layout.
