For several years the cry went far and wide for Alco Switchers..

Now there are two.

Atlas has announce a Alco S2 and Bachmann will be releasing their S4 in N.

Atlas:
Expect an official announcement of the first release in the next couple of months as per Cory Rothlisberger on the railwire forum.

Bachmann:

Actually there are a lot more, like the center cabs, SW's and what have you.

And the old and true Arnold Alco S2 but, still the cry was for a Alco switcher that is up to today's "standards".

N Scale still lacks modern switchers like the SW1500,SW1000 and Genset.

Actually I had one of those Arnold's, may still be around here somewhere. The thing sounded like a meat grinder and wouldn't run any slower than a scale 65 mph. Nope Icon_lol
