Looking for an Opinion, FL9 paint job
#1
Hey guys,

I recently acquired an old resin FL9, complete with a working drive frame and the proper details, but undecorated in its as-delivered configuration.

I could go either way with a paint job, So I figure I'll just put a poll up (much like I did with my E8s), and see what people think, and if that might tip the scale one way or the other.

An older Metro North/ MTA paint scheme, "Metro North #1"

There are two in this photo, "slant" Metro North (Metro North #2) , and CDOT New Haven

Finally, the last "Metro North" paint scheme (Metro North #3)

I'm inclined to say that there can really be only one scheme for these (and by the way, somebody needs to come up with a sound system that covers both the Hancock air chime and the sound when they were running on third rail DC only). However, the difficulty is then coming up with the train to go behind them -- NH stainless steel, or PRR Senator, for instance. Otherwise, you just suit yourself I guess. (Another good scheme would be heavily weathered McGinnis with PC numbers, which was pretty much the way they looked when I moved to California.)

I voted for the most attractive (in my opinion) New Haven, and my favorite, Conrail.

You can probably guess how I voted...feel free to allow the yellow to fade to white. That seemed to happen to some units! Smile

I'm a sucker for the vintage paint schemes, so I voted for both versions of the McGinnis. They have a certain class about them seldomly seen these days.
