Cheers That scene looks like it could be the Gensets that switch Hunts Point Market

Thank you for the friendly comments.

Train World changed the status of my oder to "delivery". Looks like they have the new Atlas Genset on stock like MB Klein does. However Train Worlds website has not been updated and shows stille "backorder 2.nd quarter".

Koos, the raw kernel will rest over night to let the glue set and to be ready to get all corners sanded. I intend to "wallpaper" it with some kind of brick etc. The right track should run through something like a brick canyon. This inspired me https://maps.google.de/maps?q=chicago+il...5,,1,-1.63

Interesting building Reinhard. I like the canyon idea, urban railroading at it's finest, but not sure if I ever have seen such a shape building (perhaps one wall of it) but it's your railroad and I think it will look great.
Who knows, someone will probably find a prototype for such a building, or are you hiding that from us Reinhard? ;-) Icon_lol

I am afraid the shape has no prototype and we would have a hard time to find one with two curved walls. It get somewhat more realistic with one curved wall following the track. Thanks for the kick in the a..... 357

Instead of an ugly gravel lot keep the curved shape but add 1 story (or how ever many you want) and have the additional level cross over the 2 track curve to the edge of the layout, like an urban tunnel it'll hide the "odd" shape of the building. Plenty of old buildings that were built around railroads are setup just like this, just a thought.

I just saw your last photo and noticed you have a building on the other side of the 2 tracks, I thought the layout ended there. But maybe you can work something out if you do go that route.

Notice the building in the upper part of the photo:

If you browse Google Maps for Vernon, CA, you can find a number of buildings with a curve on one side and irregular slices on the other like yours. However, I'd be inclined to make use of the space for an actual industry like you can see in the lower part of the same photo.

John, how could I forget that very unusual building in Vernon.
Scott, I would like to stay with quite simple building as they are along Cermack Rd. The building must be a simple one too because it must be removable as it spans over a segment boarder. The segment must be removed to access the door in the background.

I do not like the "white" building at all. Let's see how it looks with a brick surface. In any case is the old building placed back within seconds and a gravel yard is always prototypical.

Liking the shape better with the one 'kinked' wall now :-)

Plain styrene shapes never look that convincing, as soon as there's colour and texture, everything changes, so I'm sure it will look good once you've 'wallpapered' it :-)
