Hi gang!

Formers for casting the 2nd road on the layout are being glued into place.

No pics, but several 3 litre BIB red wines are in use as weights.

That might be dangerous. Call your friends and reduce the weight as fast as possible Wink Prost

Work on the layout while emptying the bottles, then the soil won't seem so red. 35 Icon_lol Cheers

All I can say is I'm glad they didn't design and build my ISL. Icon_lol

Hi gang,

Working on how to make the loading dock at the team-track.

Option 1: a sort of "wrap around" dock
[Image: 1553180_10152548369123400_5977010962641010014_o.jpg]

Option 2: 20 ft wide with ramp facing right
[Image: 10604440_10152548369118400_2123120917980302175_o.jpg]

Option 3: 20ft wide with ramp facing left

There is a grade crossing just right of the team-track scene:

My own idea would be option 3, to allow unloading 2 boxcars at the dock, and also a centerbeam flat just right of the dock... I believe those cars need access from both sides?
What would be best?

I think I would go with option 3 but you will definitely need access to both sides of center beams or you may discover their tendency to "auto unload". Eek Wallbang

If a forklift has access on the other side of the track from the loading dock, option 3 makes the most sense.

Put the dock between two tracks - That way you normally unload from one spur - but if you get a jammed door - and it does happen! - you can move the waggon to the other side and continue unloading, without having to run the car back to the junction to be turned - and yes, that is what I'm doing on my layout

Hi gang,

More roadwork...
[Image: 10531447_10152549189838400_5147576275336913024_o.jpg]

SOON™ done with spackle.

I decided on option #3 by the way. I'll need to figure out a way to build the concrete around the dock...

Hi gang,

While the roadwork is progressinf slowly in the West (left) of the layout, I decided to put the time while the spackle is drying to good use.

Kitbashing a pikestuff warehouse and retailstore into a much bigger Building - 160 scale feet long - perfect for hiding the staging track a bit....
