Perfect photo location. Your layout and the string of cars look endless.

The air will soon be filled with blue brake smoke as the hogger on CNR S2A 3529 eases his charge down the steep grade at Stoney Creek on the return trip from Port Maitland to Leetown.

The Stoney Creek "hill" sees lots of action on the Leetown Division.Helper engines are frequently used to lift the heavy freights heading east to Port Maitland.Canadian National T2A 4100 is ideally suited in this role.

NS and CSX in New Brighton MN. I was driving by the junction with the MN Commercial and CP when I saw this NS unit. Usually only see CP and CN power.

When I took this pic I noticed that behind it to the west on the CP line a train was waiting...with another NS unit at the head end.

The lead unit started moving past me within five minutes after I arrived...

...and then notched up the speed quickly, revealing two CSX units behind it. Bit of a smoke show too.

The long train headed to the East toward Dresser, WI.

It was moving pretty fast when I took this one..

Just a case of good timing on my part
