That is very well done indeed. Beside the details is the generally not crowded scenery very realistic. It has also a touch of Pelle's layout.

Most information, but not that long video, is available on this side http://www.summit-customcuts.com/modernholayout.html

ps. I think they are mixing Texas and Waycross, GA. I did not find a Waycross in Texas but the model reminds me to Waycross GA close to the east gat of the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge. Highly recommended if you like to be very alone with your wife and a canoe in the black swamp waters :o

I copied this from his site about the railroad
"The layout built in a 1200 sq. ft. room is based on Union Pacific lines with BNSF trackage rights located in south-central Texas. The main city of Waycross is fictional based on a mix between Hearne, TX and Pittsburg, TX. The towns of Livingston and LaGrange will resemble the prototypes as much as possible."

Reinhard - speaking of contemporary layouts, if you haven't been there recently - Lance Mindheim has changed his site format, and is starting on a LAJ-based layout http://lancemindheim.com/

Yes, I know. ( http://lancemindheim.com/?p=363 ). I wonder why that part of Vernon has been selected and what operating concept will be applied.

It is interesting what he selects as prototype and his thoughts how to modify it.

Highly recommended if you like to be very alone with your wife and a canoe in the black swamp waters :o[/quote]

The idea of being alone with my wife [if I currently had one] or girlfriend [but not both at the same time] in a canoe does have its appeal, but black swamp water? No way pass on the black swamp water, yuck.
If you tip the canoe over, make that tripple yuck, and where there are swamps there are bound to be mosquitos. BIG blood sucking, drain you faster than a blood bank donation, mosquitoes no doubt filled with very nasty diseases that would take a long time to recover from, if at all. Pass, big time.

You may have gathered that I have a hatred of mosquitoes and you would be right.
Lets just say; Army Reserve exercise, State Forrest near East Sale Victoria, arrived saw one of the regulars getting first aid for mozzie bites around his lips, lips swollen up and looking like Mick Jagger, bad sign. It only got worse from there. ARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH. Curse Curse Wallbang Wallbang

Its my problem and I may or may not deal with it eventually, but I doubt it. 35 Icon_lol
