Faller Car System
#1
I've been trying to get some knowledge on the Faller Car System. It seems pretty straight forward the car follows the guide wire, except when it comes to railroad crossings. I've been trying to do some research but mostly everything is in German. I've seen a bunch of videos on YouTube but again it's a lot of European modeling. The best example I could find is this video... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l51iwWIj6Os How does this work? How does the vehicle continue over rails, is the guide wire under the ties is there a break in the guide wires at the rails? What keeps the vehicle from driving into the train while it's crossing the road? I'm basically wondering what exactly is needed to complete the same scenario in the video, parts, info etc etc.. Thanks.

Hi Rscott417. Yes the car follows the guide wire. That is exactly it.

I did a search in YouTube like you under "car system Faller 2014".
I found hundreds of Faller Car System in German, French, Italians and British.

The one that will answer all you question is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-REcSIlnvAs
It is in english and it explained how they do it. At 4:20 all is revealed.

Cheers

This YouTube clip is an example of a level crossing. It looks quite complicated but does not explain the details.

But there is also a level crossing as a kit

On RMWEB is a thread about Faller Car System and at Posted 26 July 2012 - 15:15 is some explanation how to do a level crossing.

Thanks for the replies. MLW thanks for the link I subscribed to his channel, hopefully he'll have more videos of his road system soon. Reinhard will the grade crossing kit that Faller makes stop a vehicle at a crossing? I saw they make some kind of traffic modules but not sure if a grade crossing is the correct use of it.
Also all the videos this YouTube user posted are really great, it makes my head hurt thinking of the wiring involved. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VADw1k4ikwI
