New Foundland's four seasons are spring=June, summer=July, and fall =August, the rest of the year is winter.

Ayuh, I s'pose that's true, but up in Maine, 'cordin' to my grandfather, "they have 'leven months of wintah, and one month of bad sleddin'. " (the old bit 'bout wintah and the fourth of July?.....'taint true.)

As Jim points out, this is the time of the year where the desert flowers bloom, and so here's a picture of our backyard taken two days ago. These are not wildflowers, but African Dasies. My wife planted some seeds around the tree two years ago. Since we didn't put in winter grass these past two years, the flowers seeded themselves on the lawn and this is what we wound up with. They will probably double in area by next year.
