Ashwood Maine
#1
Evening all
Here's a few photos of Ashland, a small shelf switching layout built to show off my Brownville and Ashland Railway custom painted locos and stock. All of the locos and most of the freight cars are by Southern Tier Modelworks and the crane was made by Smokebox Graphics. The layout itself is 6ft long by 14" wide with a 4ft fiddleyard and a small run off at the other end to help with switching.

The idea behind the layout is its a small quarry that serves the BRAR with all its ballast needs. The railroad also uses Ashwood for storing their crane, as well as other MOW equiment.

I haven't Mike, I've loads of ideas but what I think I might do is put Ashwood in there and connect it to what's left of the old one for the time being.

I spent the day operating Ashwood at TVNAM and it was actually fun. Not just a case of shuffling a few cars around.

There is a possibility I might add another 3ft to the end of it but we'll see.

I really need to come up with a small plan for a paper mill
