Hello friends---Looks like I've been side-tracked for a while but you can be sure I'll continue to be a "looker"---it was a great ride while it lasted---keep up the great work

Do not give up. Look for another photon service and keep on posting your photos. Just make sure you have your photos on your computer and have at least two good backups.
Postings in fora are not made for the eternity. Even without the PB disaster do I find lots of dead links in many fora by various reasons. It is Murphy's law that the photo that explains in great detail the most complicated task is not available anymore.

PB is very annoying but it is not the end of fantastic photos in fora!

Ed, this is a test

it didn't work. I thought we might be able to have pictures open here from Facebook since there is so much free storage available there.
I use google photos for a free back up (it resizes them) but it is free unlimited storage, and includes videos too. I have over 200 GB up there.
I don't know if there is a way to share with the forum there, I haven't worked much on sharing. I post everything here direct to the forum. It only involves reducing the file size to less than 250 kb.

Sorry, this what I get

"Sorry, this content isn't available right now
The link you followed may have expired, or the page may only be visible to an audience you're not in."

I am also on FB. It is my understanding that FB albums are for FB internal reference only.
This is a deep link into one of my album. It works for me but do you gat a photo (CSX SD40-2) ? In case it works for it might be temporary link only. FB does not like it to support other fora.

Reinhard, facebook allows you to link to an album, just open the album and at the top click on the gear and the dropdown will offer to give you a link.
this is the link that I can share for an entire album. I was hoping a single picture could be made to display on the forum. I can see your picture but I am a facebook member.

Great, the second link to "more from 1977" works for me.
Can someone without a FB user test if my deep link works please. It works for in a virtual Win 7 session without any FB information.

Reinhard, I know the links to the albums work because I have shared some pictures with Wayne and he is not on facebook. I need to study Google Photos.
I don't know how to link them direct anyway. Somewhere here there is a thread..........

Well, the link works but you have to insert the ? and .jpg at the end. I don't know how to make them open automatically. Nope

So all 4 of the following pics were pretty easy to upload...I'm working from an iPad so that makes using Flickr,Imgur and SmugMug a bit more finicky than if I had been using a real computer or laptop. That being said, this site makes them all pretty easy...for me on the iPad uploading pics directly from my devices photo album is the easiest and fastest...followed by Imgur,SmugMug and lastly Flickr. I actually prefer the user interface of SmugMug and Flickr more than Imgur but Imgur is a bit quicker and easier to use on the iPad to load pics to this site. That being said they all seem to be good platforms.

First pic, bay window caboose, was easily uploaded direct from my iPad photo album,

Next pic, steamloco work train was posted from my Flickr account, a bit more fiddly than the caboose upload

Next pic, UK loco was uploaded from my Imgur account. a bit easier than Flickr

This reefer was posted from my SmugMug account...also pretty easy
