Viperman's HO layout progress
#1
Hi everyone! Long time no see! Rather than copy/paste the entire thread from Zealot, I'll just put a link to that thread I made for progress made on my layout, and any new updates will go here.
The Zealot thread:
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.zealot.com/forum/showthread.php?t=112267">http://www.zealot.com/forum/showthread.php?t=112267</a><!-- m -->
The new stuff:

I have made a little progress, but nothing much. No new pics since I last posted, unfortunately. I have gotten a little work done on carving out the river/lake but still have a bit to go with that.
I was at a show yesterday, which I posted on Zealot since I didn't know about this forum yet, and bought a bridge. Musket Miniatures cast resin wood plank bridge with pewter railings, 2" wide by 4"long. With this bridge, I've decided that rather than having a tunnel in the back corner, I'll use a rock cut with this bridge for the trucks.

Unfortunately, thats about it. Hopefully I'll be able to post new updates before too long

Thanks for the responses!

Yes, the layout is still nearly an hour drive from me, at my parents' house. Hopefully I can get some work done on it, I'm starting to get that drive again where I want to work on it

Ok, so I never went out to my parents last weekend, but I did yesterday. While there yesterday, I did put in some time on the layout.

I started to add in foam to what I decided will be a rock cut instead of a tunnel, to help get the shape of the curve, and also to make it a little bit narrower so the bridge I bought will fit across the gap. Thats really about all I did. I took a couple pictures of that, and also a couple to show how I've been carving out the lake and river.

First up, the rock cut:

And now a couple of the lake and river:

Thanks Josh! I don't really know what the rack faces will look like quite yet, but I do have a vision in my mind that's starting to pull together in that corner
