The rebirth of the Canyon State RR

I've been working on my layout, and at this point I've only got a few engines and a few cars that I've been using to test my tracks. The rest I packed up several years ago when we were first going to move and I trashed the display case that I built because I had no idea when I was going to get back into modeling and where I'd put it when I did. So, now that I have a working layout, and some wall space near it, I decided to get out into my garage workshop and build another cabinet before it gets too hot to get anything done. My intent is to use four sheets of 24" x 48" material, 1/4", 1/2" and 3/4" MDF or plywood, one sheet of clear acrylic and a few sticks of 1" x 2" oak or pine, all available at my local Home Depot and Lowe's.

Each shelf will hold two rows of cars or engines and so I'll have room for about 200 total. I got that number using the same formula that they use to forecast the weather, so it could be off by who knows, maybe 50%.  Anyway, I enjoy building be it a piece of furniture or a structure on my layout. Here's my sketch, details can change as I go, just as they do with the weather reports:

   

EDIT: Just a slight change, after buying the material, I thought a full door was going to be too heavy for one set of hinges, so I decided to split the door. The best time for changes is in the drawing stage.
