Nice.
Some empty AMP cans and Coca-Cola bottles will really finish it off.
Excellent job on the trash!
Looks great!!!! Us people without the time or patience will just have to look at your work. Smile Smile

Great detailing!! The "newspaper" helps a lot!! Big Grin
WOW Kurt, your layout is amazing!! Actually I don't know if amazing is even giving it the proper credit. Here you go Worship Worship Worship The whole scene is fantastic for sure but one thing has caught my eye and I had to ask. Looking at the picture of the whole scene the tracks actually appear to look like real uneven jointed rail industrial spurs. How the heck did you do that? I look forward to seeing more of your masterful work.
Thank you for your kind and encouraging comments. I am glad you like the pics of my layout.

Andrew, some cans and bottles are a good idea. I’ll see what I can do ... Goldth

CandO7430, the track is Micro Engineering Code 70 flextrack. There is really nothing special about it. Maybe it is all the sand and dirt on the ties that leaves that impression.

Looks real good Kurt, what did you use for the dried up grass between and next to the tracks?
Lynn, all the grass you can see in this picture is the Heki wild grass I mentioned earlier on this thread. It comes in different colors and I am using three of them on my layout.
Excellent Waveof7
kurt,i was jsut wondering what other kinds of "trash" you could put on the layout. like some sort of plastic stretched around something to look like a garbage bag.or how about an old mattress maybe a car on blocks ,just my endless stupid ideas comin out Icon_lol --josh
Thank you, Jim Wink .

Josh, I like your "trashy" ideas. I already tried some colorless plastic, but it is hardly visible. But I will try again with some colored vinyl. Where do I get an HO scale mattress? Goldth Great idea Thumbsup

hey kurt, your the modeling master,im sure youve got some idea to make a mattress Icon_lol ,i just come up with the supid ideas,i let others figure them out Misngth but for plastic bags you could just use regular plastic just stretched super thin couldnt you?--josh
Kurt, the most common trash bags in use in the US are black plastic. Smaller plastic "shopping bags" may also liter the area with or without trash in them and they will be all sorts of colors depending on the store they came from. Small family owned stores will use bags with no logos, usually white, but often yellow, or blue. Larger chain stores, whether department, hardware/home improvement, discount, or grocery stores, will have their own bags printed up in corporate colors with company logos printed on the bags.
Speaking of trash bags, just came across some on e-bay, this gal has some pretty neat stuff:

And, Kurt, check it out she ships worldwide and is located in Canada Misngth

Im ordering a few sheets of concrete panel cardstock sheets that im having her custom print for my bridges Misngth

BTW, that last picture you posted is another beauty!!! Thumbsup
