I haven't seen a rollby posted here in a long time - so here is the train I was running today. Goldth

Heading up the train is Gila and Southeastern #14, a 4-6-0. It is a Model Die Casting product with a modified tender from a Bachmann I-10 2-8-0.

Next is an Accurail outside braced boxcar, followed by a Life-Like reefer (from the 2010 bash challenge)

Next is a pair of MDC wood boxcars, from kits.

Another Accurail boxcar, and an Accurail USRA hopper.

And finally, Gila and Southeastern caboose # 102

That is about the longest train that looks good on my layout. 5-6 car freights, and 3 car passenger trains will be the norm.
You've done a nice job on that Ten Wheeler, Kevin, and that tender looks good behind it, too. Thumbsup Thumbsup

However, if I'd know that you were going to be in my neck of the woods, I would've invited you over: that SP boxcar right behind the loco looks like the same one I picked up at the LHS three days ago. Eek I wandered around the store with it for about an hour, finally convincing myself that I didn't really need it. Misngth Still, it's nice to see that it went to a good home.

I miss those old MDC steamer kits. Very crude, but simple enough to be feasible for the teenager to put together. I've also got the harriman 2-8-0 that I hope to have online within a few weeks (basically needs paint). It also has the open-frame motor, but has a stepped gear - meaning it runs smooth and slow but noisy! The thing could probably pull a stump out of the ground, too!
And I caught this train of narrow gauge empties heading downhill just a few minutes later.

First is Mogollon Railroad #4, a 2-8-0 from an MDC kit.

This is follwed by water car #400, scratchbuilt and based on a Uintah railway water car, and scratchbuilt wood hopper car #505.

[attachment=4651]

And then wood hopper cars #501 and #500, also scratchbuilt.

[attachment=4650]
Next comes wood hoppers #510 and #511, kitbashed from Tichy kits.

[attachment=4654]

And last, caboose #450, extensively kitbashed from a Life-like spotlight caboose, my very first HO car.

Great stuff Kevin! That Armour refer looks real good in that train! Thumbsup

I like the scratchbuilt hoppers. Nice modeling!
