Ray, I have seen and been hit in the face with spider webs stranded between cars (full size)that had only sat overnight, If there are cars in storage for long they get wasps nests too.

I have a couple of shaving brushes for dusting delicate bits, but I don't use them often enough.
On my previous layout, I had a large flat area that had been covered with basic grass. One of the cats like to lie in it and watch trains so it was called Mischa's Meadow. When I took it apart, the grass had acted as a comb and was thick with cat fur.
One thing my wife convinced me of doing was changing the furnace filter more often ...I think I was a "once a year guy "
, now every 3 months . It really helps atleast in my house .

At least I am able to keep the big spyders outside.
When I had Operating sessions one guy quite when a snake skin caused a derailment. Everyone else thought it was funny

I think you're quite happy being able to keep them outside too, that's a decent size spider. The biggest ones we have here are a little bigger than the size of a polyscale bottle cap, and they make a mess (horizontal webs etc) and run very fast too so hard to catch. Can't imagine the mess one of those (I assume a kind of Tarantula) makes. How do you catch them if they do get in the house, and do you have to be careful not to get bitten?

PS: one of those on the layout could provide a nice way of making a 1950's horror sci fi horror movie :-)

They're not hard to catch.
You just have to distract them and pick them up.
I don't know anyone that ever got bitten by one around here. My son would catch Tarantulas, black widows, scorpions and snakes and never got bitten once.

Don't squash ' em too badly , they could be a tasty horzz-doover for your op session snack
