Always got a kick out of the John Force/ Fram oil filter commercial from a few years ago where they were advertising the "firm grip " surface of the filter .....a film of Force flipping his funny car and saying about the filter " see , I still got ahold of it " .
I agree , racing is full of type A personalities and they probably have to be that way to succeed ......Matt Kenseth is one exception though .

Does everyone understand what's happening this Saturday morning with SpeedTV / Fox Sports 1??????

As of 8:00 am EDT Saturday - Speed will cease to exixt. In it's place will be Fox Sports 1

They will still cover all the NASCAR stuff, but they will be covering all sports - they will be competing with ESPN.

Now the lousy news:

SpeedTV added an average of 23 cents to your cable bill.... Fox Sports1 (FS1) will be adding 80 cents and next year will increase to 1.40 on average.

FS1 is trying to open in 90 million households - but they STILL have Not made an agreement with some of the satellite carriers.. Gee?? You think it's the money??

If - You have SpeedTV and you look at your guide and scroll to next Saturday.. You should see NASCAR trucks shows on Saturday at 8:00 to 1:00... If you don't see that - Your company is one of the ones that will continue to show Reruns of SpeedTV shows until they work out the contracts.... In other words, you will Not be able to see any of the "new" FS1 NASCAR stuff.......

But wait!! There's more Crappy stuff:
They have cancelled a bunch of Speed Shows to make room for the new FS1 stuff..... Wind Tunnel and some of the NASCAR stuff will be missing

We will have a few different commentators and Regis Philbin will be on FS1 at some point.... We'll jut have to get used to it - I guess.......

Regis ?????? ...what's next Kathy Lee ?

I checked in on the race part way through and I'm about 200 points ! Gasp ! Then Ambrose goes out by the time I checked again ...still a good day , don't know what happened to Marcus Ambrose . Oh well .

Going to Michigan International Speedway, for the Pure Michigan 400, Sunday at 1:00 pm.... This is the Last Day race for a month!!!! We go to Bristol next week and Atlanta and Richmond the following 2 weeks.

The Next Day Race will be Sunday September 15th at Chicagoland to start The Chase For The Cup!!!!

This just in , from the Department of " It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time " ...........

So , a couple of days ago I'm looking at my roster and..... hmmm Bristol coming up .......so I get my rabbit's foot , check the tea leaves in my wife's cuppa tea , gaze at the stars for a few nights , consult my comrades at the local Mensa meeting , and decide the my old reliable Matt Kenseth is getting too old for the hoop-de-do at Bristol ....he's kind of cautious , getting old at about 60 or so , very smooth and steady ..............but Brad Keslowski is young guy , virile , snorting like a bull ,
aggressive etc , so of course I make the trade . Piece of cake , right ?

Results : 75 year old geezer MK is FIRST
.....young buck BK is THIRTIETH .

....I'm now writing out 5000 times " Don't mess with the old guys " ...................

I gave up on Danica and i had to trade off Tony Stewart - but that is all i did..... My guys are still not doing too well... Truex may still make The Chase, so I'm happy there... We'll see - only a few "regular season" races left.......
