Although I had a bad day something good did come of it. I got the new power supply installed in the IIe. Easier than installing a DCC decoder. It was literally a drop-in installation. Drop it into place, put in four screws from the bottom and connect a six pin wire harness. The test run went off without a hitch. For those who may be curious I took a couple of photos. One of the new unit installed and one of the tag with the amp limits.

I don't wish to force photos on those who don't want to see them so I'm posting links only. After all, not everybody is an antique computer nut.

Other than moving some stuff out from under the layout there was no layout work today. Unless you count rerailing a loco I knocked over when I was cleaning the a/c filter. Yes, I do have more than one Shop-Vac. I have three. Large, medium and small. And I've already remotored the one that went ka-flooey this morning. Don't let it be said that I've been idle today. Sometimes working on something is my best way of dealing with pain.

Time for me to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow, providing I can get out of bed in the morning.

Good morning all and I hope you are having a great weekend. I can't believe we are just four days away from July 4th. It just seems that we were in the middle of February just last week.... Icon_lol

I have to mention the weather once again, it's getting a bit tiring I know, but the whole SW is in a heat wave. Yesterday, Phoenix had a record 119, while we here on the outskirts were lucky with only 117 outside showing on our car thermometer. Humidity was around 8%, but that really doesn't help when it's that hot out. Las Vegas wasn't too much better at 118. That's weird, I've been up to Vegas when there was snow on the ground, talk about extreme changes.

We are in for some more today, it's only 5:30 here and it's 89°with a high expected of 115. I guess it's one of those, "don't go outside unless you really have to" days Nope ..... I can't believe that some people actually drove to Death Valley, CA just to be in the heat. I guess they were disappointed because it only got up to 128 there. :o And yes, we still are having people in the Phoenix area hiking the mountain and desert trails. 35
Good morning. It's 73° with 75% humidity. The high will be 92°.

Sore and stiff this morning and I'm having a hard time getting around. My knees and back are screaming at me about that long uphill trek yesterday. No layout work, indeed no work period planned for today. It hurts just to lift my arms and I have quite a sunburn to contend with.

Greetings, gang.

It's cloudy and 57 degrees this morning with an expected high in the upper 70s.

Don, I also find it hard to believe the Fourth is rapidly approaching. It seems like only last month we had 8 inches of snow on the ground. Oh, wait... we did!

May 2nd, 2013. Out my back door.

A couple of weeks later the temperature was 100 degrees.

Progress on the Great Bath Remodel is, as they say, progressing. Finishing touches are the order of the day. One shut off that keeps seeping about a drop an hour will have to be fixed and some final cleaning of the room. Also on the agenda for today is an F1 race at 10:30. Tomorrow it's on to other projects in anticipation of our visitors. My wife's parents and her sister and brother-in-law are arriving Tuesday and staying until Sunday when they head back to Michigan. Our oldest daughter is having her 25th wedding anniversary party this Saturday. Lots of people coming from near and far.

All stay safe.

Hello everyone, I'm just a confused old-timer. Last two years have been more downs than ups and when I finally get around to getting back into 2Guysandsumtrains........ hell! it's dissapeared! Tried "The Gauge" and it too has gone.
I was close to terminal depression when the inclusion of "The Gauge" was part of this site. so here I am again.
You can't imagine my delight at finding so many of my palls are members of this forum.

EZdays and Ngauger, thanks a milllion for keeping this forum open. During my searches I felt I had lost family and that's the truth.

At present I have nothing to submit regarding RR modelling. I gave my mini "N" layout to my neighbour's young lad. All I have is a small dual gauge HO/HOn3 diorama still unfinished after two and a half years!

I'm looking forward to good humour and more friendships in here. Thanks again my friends from this crazy Scotsman.
I try to supply a lot of humour in this jungle, but now I reckon I'll have some difficulty. You have got kinda picky and said you like "good humour". I've never tried that kind, but I believe there is always a first. Of course there is always Don EZDaze who puts tongue in cheek quite frequently.

Glad to see you back again. Missed you.

Errol!! Glad you remembered where we are!!! Smile Big Grin Smile I know you were in here when we first set the site up, but we lost track of you except on 2guyz

We're glad to have you back and sorry to hear that you've hit some bad patches. Hope everything begins to improve for you. Feel free to share any pics of your diorama.. Smile Welcome back and Best of Luck!!!!!
Morning all nothing planned for today, so may work on layout and see if I can get it all together and start all my extra wiring of lead drops to have even power around the table The O-31 layout really needs some more drops as the way it is now one drop and I lose power in one section if the track seperates ( yes not screwed down yet as still working on it) as power is lost from other direction due to a isolation track between the seperation and the power drop lol. even still want to add more drops.

Still lots to do on the layout but at least I'm running trains on 2 loops and yes need to finish wiring and screwing the tracks down on all loops.

Hope all have a good day talk to you all later
Good Morning Blue
We have 67 degrees and overcast skies.
No train news this morning, I think we have plans for later today but need to check with granny.

There having a marathon in Pasadena they took off 1st thing in the morning but its still hot, forecast is 107 in the valley and i'm sure its close to the same there. Dodgers are playing also.
Yesterday on the freeway, close to the desert, in the afternoon, probably over 105 some poor guys car broke down and he got over to the side and got out where he was struck and killed. In the ensuing backup 30 or 40 cars overheated and people were being treated for heat illness.

Man, what can we say, except, welcome back. Welcome Welcome It's good to see you again after all these years. Thumbsup Thumbsup We're also glad that you're doing better and we can't wait to see what you have, or will be doing.

Mikey and I both take pride in being able to restore what could have been lost forever, but we couldn't do it without those people that you remember, and the many new ones that have joined us along the way. They are the reason the old Gauge has been able to survive, and we're just pleased to be a part of it. Big Grin Big Grin
Morning all. Back from Sunday School. Been bad. Just figured out I had not been since last of April. :o Usually at lake house due to going up earlier and mowing. Suppose to rain off and on. We a have gone from moderate drought to 6 inches surplus.

Tons of cucumbers and squash. Tomatoes getting ripe. Will get into the Box for some time this afternoon as Wifey is going with niece shopping.

DVR'd Lawless last night. Had seen the DVD. Great movie. Franklin County VA was busted several years ago for moonshining again. Guy and his whole family were arrested. Big operation.

Also get in some reclinerizing I'm sure.

Later.
Well got one more loop completely connected so now have 4 loops I can run trains on one more to go and then all the wiring fun begins lol I also have to complete the actual layout of the 5th loop as its just a loop right now I have switches I need to run the rails to connect to other switches If you look closely on the video you can see I'm going to incorporate a figure 8 into that loop. Did some wiring also today and even found where I did a mistake but its all fixed now.
Talk to you all later hope all had a good weekend I know i did and thanks for the wishes for the wife and myself
Well I thing the past couple days are catching up to me. I'm so tired now I can barely keep my eyes open and I have a terrible pain right across my forehead and down my back. I have to call it a night. Be back when I can.
