Sounds interesting, i'm sure i'd be free one of those weekends.

Cheers mark it down Tongue save the date Worship and we'll talk more next week.

I think the day has been set.
I was looking into the #9 mine and Jim Thorpe trip as a contender for our trip. There is parking at each location and some places to eat in each spot. The mine runs guided tours every hour from 11am to 3:15 pm at $7 a person that includes the mine + museum. There is also a picnic aria there that we could use if you like.
I have emailed The Lehigh gorge scenic railway for a 2009 time schedule, there site still shows 2008 times. there line runes from Jim thorpe to Old pen haven. along the lehigh river. When I hear back from them I'll post there info.
As always I am open to suggestions so any other ideas let me know.
I heard back from the LGSR, they run trains at 11:00 am 1:00pm and 3:00pm. Tickets are $12 per person, kids 3-12 $9, under 3 are free. they have a group rate if we can get more than 10 people. If we catch the first mine tour or train ride at 11 o'clock we should have plenty of time to do both places. If you think It's a good idea let me know.
Neat!!! Sounds good!!!
Sounds good to me too.
Terrific!!
I'll be in Jim Thorpe on Sunday for the St. Pats parade. I'll do some recon for our trip.
Looks like we'll all have to take a bus Icon_lol

No problem, Thanks I apreasheat the help.
I found out that the day of the St. pats day parade is not the day to try to get a feel for the town. I lived in the most crowded county in NJ( maybe the US ) before I moved to north east PA. and I have never seen so many people packed into 1 small street. All I can say is that Jim Thorpe is nice old town, newcomers are in for a treat. There is a large parking lot just north of the CNJ station, now a bank, and a few places to get some grub.
