I stopped in at Jim Thorpe on the way back from some family errands and took some pics to wet your pallets.
NICE!!!! Can't wait!!!!
I can't make it...I'm drooling!
Make it!!

drooling... wait, I should just drive up now!
We were there last Summer with the Friends of the PA RR Museum, IF I can convince the wife to go again, we will join you.
Please tell me that there will be leaves on the trees by the time we get there in June!

It has been a long winter, and the only green is on the layout.

Looking forward to the trip.
If there are no leaves on the trees in June ,we are all in big trouble.
Actually I think the train trip would be better without leaves, you see very little of the river when the leaves are on the trees. But a train ride is good anytime. Cheers
OK every, one I am going to contact both locations about getting a group rate for our trip. So, I need a definite list of who will be attending .Names are not important just #'s ,so include your self and any friends/family coming. I will wait till after Easter to call them with a list so please reply to this post before then.
If an admin or mod could keep this tread on the first page for a few days so that more people see it ,I would be very thankful.
We're talking 6/13, right? If so, I'm in. I'll just need an adress so I can get directions to where ever we meet, and a time of course. Looks like a fun day!

Gary
That will be on one of my wife's long weekends. She has requested some additional time off for recuperation. So, there will be the two of us.
I will get back to you before Easter. It's beginning to look like I may have a conflict. Hope I can make it work.
Yes It will be 6/13. The best place to meet is probably the train station in Jim Thorpe. It's right next to the Lehigh river on what I think is Susquehanna street. You can't miss it. We'll get more into that later. So far we have sgtcarl1=2
e-paw =2
Thanks for the reply.
Big Grin ok - i missed something - what "2 places" are you contacting for reservations Smile

And I'm coming too Smile Smile Smile
e-paw Wrote:I was thinking about a nice day trip for Gauge members in the eastern Pa ,western Jersey area.
(of course all are welcome that want to join in) I checked some spots and figured that we could check out the #9 coal mine in Lansford Pa. http://www.no9mine.com and near by Jim Thorp the same day. In Jim Thorp there is the former CNJ station used by the Lehigh gorge scenic railway (they offer a train ride along the Lehigh river that we could take) there is also an Ho layout in the building next door. There are plenty of other things to do in Jim Thorp. I would like to set this up for this spring or summer let me know what you think and if you want to go so we can set a date. I am open to any other ideas so if you got one lets here it.
